One song, six rooms: Asante Reimagined

Why Paddy Daniel took his thanksgiving song Asante and rebuilt it six ways — Bossa Nova, bass, Baby Nova, acoustic and instrumental.

When Asante came out on 23 December 2025, it was a simple thing to say: thank you. Thank you for loving me before I knew You. Thank you for rain in the middle of the desert.

Three months later, Paddy came back to the same song with a question every producer eventually asks: what else could this be?

Six versions, one message

Asante Reimagined is a six-track EP that explores one composition through different arrangements, textures and instrumentation:

  1. Asante (Reimagined) — 3:15
  2. Asante (Bossa Nova) — 4:00
  3. Asante (Bass Version) — 3:14
  4. Asante (Baby Nova) — 3:37
  5. Asante (Acoustic Version) — 3:17
  6. Asante (Instrumental) — 4:40

The words don’t change. The rooms they are sung in do.

Why do this?

Paddy approaches music as a performer, songwriter, producer and engineer at the same time. Re-arranging a song is how all four of those people get to speak. It is also practical: an acoustic version fits a small fellowship, an instrumental fits a prayer room, and a Bossa Nova take fits a Sunday afternoon.
